When you vote, don’t use electronic voting machines
On election day, please don’t use an electronic voting machine if you want to ensure that your vote is counted. Instead, ask for a paper ballot. To put it simply, electronic voting machines are buggy, insecure, & inaccurate.
I’ve been studying & writing about this issue for years. I first wrote about it in 2003. You can read the article I wrote at http://www.securityfocus.com/columnists/198; sadly, what I wrote then is still almost entirely applicable today.
In the years since, I have spoken to groups all over St. Louis (in fact, I’d be happy to come speak to yours; just ask!) about this issue. You can download & view the slides from my talk at http://granne.me/YBm3LF. Feel free to share them, as long as my name is kept on them.
If you have any questions, please feel free to send them my way.
